For those web developersbetween you, you might be interested in this little plugin that sits together with the oh-so-well-known Firebug plugin for Firefox. This nice little app. will check a few parameters on your webpages and let you know why your website has gotten so slow lately! Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Asus to make fully upgradable laptops

Now, we geeks waited long for this one! Finally a laptop where you can upgrade more than hard disk and ram! Asus is apparently lunching a new line where everything under the hood (and by hood we mean keyboard) can be replaced - motherboard, cpu, graphic card... sweet! And the starting price is at $1,300, although if you're like me you really wanna know what is the price of the beefed up version!

Joox.net - is this for real?

Joox.net, brand new website on the way of getting shut veeeery soon! Apparently you can download and/or stream .divx files straight from the site, can you believe it? The MPAA must be just around the corner, it's just a matter of time! In the meantime, enjoy the site!

UPDATE: I had a better look at the site and apparently it's just a streaming/downloading front-end for another website: stage6.divx.com which as you might have noticed is a sub-domain to divx.com! Uhm, this is rather interesting! We'll see how this plays out, keep checking back for updates.

TfL refunds

Yes, I'm at it again, but this time is different. You would not believe it, but TfL actually gives refunds if the train is late 15 min or more, I've tried it. All you need to do is complete the form online and after about a month you will receive a voucher that you can redeem in form of a ticket (or part of it) or topup in your oyster, mine came with £4 pounds! I don't know you, but I'm gonna do this every time the train is one second over 15 min late, let's see if finally they'll find more convenient actually improve the service...

London to get wifi coverage + speedy broadband

Apparently London will be extending its wifi coverage to few more areas. Besides the already covered Soho, the City and parts of the Thames river bank, we will be able to enjoy wifi soon in Kensington and Chelsea, Camden and Islington, all for a flat rate of £11.00pm (too bad it probably won't reach Hammersmith). And if that wasn't enough, the Department of Trade and Industry received a report urging to take action towards upgrading broadband speed in the UK to keep up with other countries (apparently Hong Kong has been enjoying 100Mbps while I'm lucky if my up to 8Mbps connection gets to 2Mbps). It's all good, it's all good...

This is for all Windoz users out there. I know you have seen the
ease with which Linux users update all their software at once with
the click of an icon... Well, your time is coming too! Forget
download.com, leave tucows, today you can download your software in
one easy click at filehippo.com. And if it wasn't enough, you have
2 options to stay up to date with the software releases: a good old
RSS feed, or a brand new software that will scan your computer and
report to you a personalized web page with download links for your
updates. One step forward to me switching to Windoz?
